Dear Subscriber,
It's been a strange few weeks. From super low temps in Alberta, to Ontario being as high as 13C, to the record Maritime snowfall. It's getting hard to predict things (especially the weather), but that said, we also have more technology to help us than ever before. I'm sailing in Bahamas right now and I can get hourly estimates of wind speed and direction, temperature and even hourly precipitation (none :) looking several days out, so no surprises. The problem occurs when we try and predict a week out...that becomes much more difficult and much less accurate.
Benefits are a lot the same. Clients are unpredictable (growing, shrinking, buying, selling, etc), employees are unpredictable (quitting, claiming, getting married, having kids, becoming ill etc), insurers are...well...insurers. But, we have some great technology to help predict these things. There are those methods of an inorganic nature like; a phone, e-mail, chats etc. and the more current organic type like; your eyes and ears. Just reaching out and asking, reading about then in the news, and listening to clients is all we need to get the info we need to help and make things more predictable.
As a side note...Think about why we seek out experts, like weather people on the news. We don't know what we don't know, and they are pros that can help interpret the data, so we know what to expect. The more confusing things get (like pharma and dental care, high cost drugs etc.), the more we are needed. We are the experts to help clients and prospects know it's time to buy and take an umbrella...or not.
Keep doing great things...
