Employee benefits are more than just a box to check; they are a key to business success. By offering solutions that focus on the holistic wellbeing of employees, organizations create positive culture shifts and elevate employee engagement levels. Organizations focused on creating a healthy workplace culture realizes greater financial stability of their benefit costs and increased organizational success – whatever that definition may be.

For nearly 20 years I have been supporting clients with the management and communication of their benefits and wellbeing programs. Constantly striving to effectively balance cost and care, programs are individually tailored to create an effective total rewards strategy.

Clients benefit from my experience with renewal evaluation and negotiations of costs, employee education and communication, interpreting industry benchmark reports, evaluation of ben-tech solutions, compliance reporting, and ongoing fiduciary management of the employee benefit plans.

My approach is simple - listen and learn where you are now in your total rewards journey then help you build the bridge to get you where you want to be.

Sam Pasternak (Alliance Income)

Sam Pasternak

Alliance Income

My main area of expertise is employee benefits.

I built my career on the road as a traveling insurance consultant, which I am proud of. Some people get to know their barber. Me? I got to know the shoe repair guy. I wore out the soles of countless shoes in my first years on the job.

But you know what? Nothing beats it.

Door to door, business to business, person to person. Nothing taught me more about what drives people to succeed. I love people. I love their stories. I love their hopes, their dreams, their passions and yes, even their fears and anxieties. With strategy, creativity and a genuine desire to make people’s lives better, insurance can deliver real value.

That’s where I come in.

Whether it is personal plans or group plans for business owners, building the right plan is my sole focus.

Yafa Sakkejha (Beneplan)

Yafa Sakkejha

Beneplan

Yafa Sakkejha is the CEO of Beneplan, a health co-operative that has paid $26 million in dividends to its customers (member-owners) since 2000. As a fourth-generation entrepreneur and a second-generation insurance advisor, she has learned how to manage risk, pivot and dissolve ego as a daily habit.

As a mother, she understands how critical it is to have laser focus on the single thing that will move the dial between 9am and 5pm. As an employer, she is thrilled to be able to be her team's #1 assistant. As an empath and feminist, she sees insurance differently, including how insurance contract language can sometimes form systemic barriers to elevating people's lives.

She has been recognized in the WSJ, Globe & Mail, CBC, Financial Post, Benefits & Pensions Monitor, Benefits Canada, and others for the work she does.
